||The byway leaves Big Creek Road and joins CA State Highway 168 to the south. Big Creek Road goes west to Huntington Lake, a reservoir, on the Sierra Nevada mountains at an elevation of 7000 ft; has a marina, offers surfing, boating and other recreational activities. Camping is popular around the lake. Deer Creek Campground, is situated here.
