St Joseph, Indiana County Line
The highway at this point is called the St. Joseph Valley Parkway. Established in 1830, St. Joseph County is a regional center for higher education. The County is home to the University of Notre Dame, one of the nations leading private universities, and several other private colleges: Bethel College, Holy Cross College and St. Marys College. Indiana University also has a campus in South Bend with a Purdue extension. The East Race Waterway is North Americas first artificial whitewater course, hosting national and international slalom races featuring Olympic champions.
