Jeffers Hopewell Prehistoric Mound, a remnant of the Adena and Hopewell Indian cultures, this twenty-foot mound with a base diameter of one hundred and ninety-two feet was part of an eight acre ceremonial area when the New England settlers arrived in 1803.
