The Ohio Bicentennial Commission plans to paint at least one barn in each of Ohio's 88 counties with the red, white, and blue bicentennial logo by the year 2003. The barn on Rt. 528 in Geauga County has been completed.
Shopping with the Amish
Turn right on Nauvoo Rd. and see a number of Amish businesses! Stop at the Middlefield Cheese Factory, A&K Amish bakery, Miller's bulk food store, Granny's Baskets, & Livestock Auction Barn. When done shopping go back to Rt. 528 and turn right to continue south.
Intersection Rt. 528 & Rt. 87 Access to Rt, 608
Go west to find downtown Middlefield; go east to Mesopotamia. This area is the world's 4th largest Amish community, but not commercialized like the other ones. The journey along Rt. 528 ends in Parkman, Ohio at Rt. 422. A nice gazebo and park await you. East on 422 you will find a good restaurant (JD's Post House), but save room for custard at the Frozen Dee-Light stand just .6 miles from the gazebo.
