Welcome to Pinedale Wyoming, home of the oldest Mountain Man Rendezvous Pageant held during the Green River Rendezvous every year in July. Originally, the Green River Rendezvous was an annual event where mountain men, trappers, travelers and Indians all gathered in a valley 'below the Green' River to barter, trade, sell, and swap skins, pelts, guns, jewelry and whatever else they needed.

Pinedale, Wyoming is located in western Wyoming approximately 78 miles south of Jackson Hole and 100 miles north of Rock Springs along Highway 191. The town is nestled on the western flank of the Wind River Mountain Range. Pinedale is a small community with a western flavor. Pinedale is your basecamp for adventure into the beautiful Wind River Mountains, and right on the way to Yellowstone National Park, the Tetons and Jackson Hole

Half Moon Wildlife Habitat Management Area
Half Moon Wildlife Habitat Management Area is six miles southeast of Pinedale and provides quality winter range for up to 700 elk and a large population of mule deer. Perhaps the most striking feature of the area is Half Moon Mountain, which starts at 7,400 feet elevation and rises to 8,200 feet in less than a mile. Besides providing habitat for elk and deer, Half Moon is home to pronghorn antelope, sage grouse, moose, rabbits, coyotes and many songbirds. The area also provides access to adjacent U.S. Forest Service lands. Half Moon is closed each year from November 1 through April 30.

Pinedale Airport
Known as Wenz Field it is located approximately 6 miles south of Pinedale next to US Hwy 191. The runway is 7100' x 100', asphalt surface. Elevation is 7080'. This field will accomodate most corporate jets. Services include fuel, aircraft maintenance, repair & inspection. Call New Breed Aviation at 307-367-2290 for additional information. Wildlife Veiwing Area
This is a good viewing area where you may happen to see Elk, Antelope, Mule Deer & a variety of other small game. Binoculars are a great help.

Wind River Campground
This resort is easily accessed from Hwy 191 with large sites which can accommodate larger RV's. There are many lakes and rivers within driving distance. Area provides for nature walks and more strenuous hiking for the adventuresome. Shopping and parks are nearby as are beautiful national parks.

Boulder Fish Hatchery & Access
Located 15 miles south of Pinedale on Highway 191, then 1.5 miles east on Boulder Rearing Station Road. The main species of fish raised at Boulder are rainbow and brown trout; however, cutthroat trout and kokanee salmon have also been a part of the production. Most of the fish from Boulder are stocked in the Green River drainage and the southwest portion of the state.

Bridger Wilderness (Big Sandy Access)
ACCESS U.S. Highway 191, the major highway between Rock Springs and Jackson, Wyoming, lies west of the Wind River Range. Major trailheads are reached via roads which are clearly signed at intersections with Highway 191. Shuttle services between Jackson and Rock Springs, and trailheads are available from local private contractors.

Big Sandy Recreation Area
Recreation at Big Sandy Reservoir is directly managed by the Bureau of Reclamation. Information about the area can be obtained by contacting: Big Sandy Reservoir Provo Area Office 302 East 1860 South Provo, UT 84606-7317 Phone: 801-379-1000 Email:jjensen@uc.usbr.gov The site has primitive facilities and no on-site manager or law enforcement. Situated in an open setting north of Farson, Wyoming, at the 6,760-foot elevation, with a 2,500-acre surface area. Use is low and seasonal. Available fish species include brown trout, cutthroat trout, and catfish. The Big Sandy Reservoir U.S. Geological Survey map covers the area.

Flaming Gorge Reservoir Upper Marsh Creek
Boating & Fishing Access. This lake lies completely within the scenic Flaming Gorge National Recreational Area which lies partially in Utah and mostly Wyoming. Popular recreational sites include Squaw Hollow and Buckboard Crossing on the western shoreline and Firehole Canyon and Upper Marsh Creek on the eastern shoreline. Lucerne Valley Recreation offers camping on an outer fork surrounded on three sides by the lake on the Utah side along the southwestern section.
