Byway Description: Wisconsin's Great River Road flanks the majestic and magnificent Mississippi River on its leisurely journey down Wisconsin's western border. With the river on one side and towering bluffs on the other, it's one of the most scenic drives in Mid-America. Visit and explore the many historical sites, recreation and natural areas, scenic vistas, Lock and Dams, and the 31 quaint river towns nestled along the way.
