Help Protect the Wildlife The deer population in the Park is not quite as bad as it is in some of the urban areas. We still have plenty of hunters to help keep nature in balance. So, we ask you to make sure your vehicle doesn't become a weapon and remove any of them or yourselves from the mountain. They spring out qickly -- especially during the rutting season -- and young fawns can't jump the stone walls. Skyline Drive (Shenandoah National Park)
