Stowe Village - Route 108 intersection There are no traffic lights in Stowe, just one stop sign at this intersection. If you want a side trip to the ski areas, turn left on Rt. 108 (also called Mountain Road) and go about seven miles. A few miles farther up Rt 108 is Smuggler's Notch, one of the most beautiful drives in Vermont. The notch is closed to car traffic from late Oct to mid May because of the depth of the snow.
