This byway featuring open vistas and passing through the beginning of the Roan and Book Cliff formations, Peaking at Indian Creek Pass, 9,100 feet in elevation, the byway winds through the Ashley National Forest. This byway provides recreation in plenty along it's route, especially in Ashley National Forest, such as camping, hiking, and fishing, mountain biking, river running, or rappelling and in the winter, cross-country skiing and snowmobiling.
