Hanksville, Utah is thriving with visitors coming for recreation at Lake Powell, Capitol Reef National Park, the Henry Mountains, the San Rafael Swell, Goblin Valley State Park, and the solitude of the surrounding deserts and slot canyons. This is where the Byway Bicentennial Highway starts it's journey from. This Byway Bicentennial Scenic Highway is the gateway to Natural Bridges National Monument, where erosion has created the world's largest display of natural bridges, formed out of 225 million-year-old Cedar Mesa sandstone.
