Description:
Four Spanish frontier missions, part of a colonization system that stretched across the Sanish Southwest in the 17th, 18th, 19th centuries, are preserved here. They include Missions San Jose, San Juan, Esapda, and Concepcion. The park containing many cultural sites along with some natural areas, was established in 1978. It is about 819 acres in size.

Accessibility: Each of the major sites in the park is partially wheelchair accessible. A wheelchair is available for loan at each site. The park film is captioned. There are some tactile exhibits. Visit the Accessibiilty page in the park kiosk for more information.
Getting Around: Roadways connect each site in this mostly urban park. The Mission Trails project, presently under construction, includes a hike and bike trail, and driving route from downtown to Espada, the southernmost mission site in the park. Some sections of the trail and are presently open and parallel the San Antonio Rivir in some places.

Directions to San Antonio Missions National Historical Park
Plane: San Antonio is service by San Antonio International Airport and Stinson Municipal Airport.
Car: From Downtown:Proceed south on St. Mary's Street, which will turn into Roosevelt Avenue. Continue south to the 3300 block of Roosevelt, where it intersects with New Napier Avenue. Turn left. You will see the park visitor center on the left.
From Interstate 37:Exit at West Southcross Boulevard. Proceed west on Southcross to Roosevelt Avenue. Turn left and proceed south on Roosevelt until it intersects with New Napier Avenue. Turn left. You will see the park Visitor Center on your left.
From Interstate 10:Exit at Probandt Street and follow the National Park Service signs to Mission Concepcion. Park rangers will provide detailed information about routes to the remaining missions and sites.
Public Transportation City bus service (VIA) Route 42 travels north and south on Roosevelt Avenue. The stop at Roosevelt and New Napier is within easy walking distance to the park Visitor Center and Mission San Jose.
