Home of Geisinger Medical Center. The Red Barn - fine restaurant and lodging convenient to Geisinger Med Center We also recommend Bj's Steak & Rib House

Rt. 61 takes you on the bridge crossing the Susquehanna River to Sunbury, Pennsylvania Northumberland County and Lake Augusta, Pennsylvania, part of the Shikellamy State Park is created here with the inflation of the fabri-dam- . Fishing and boating are great (bass & walleye) East access also to cities of Shamokin, Sunbury - Mount Carmel, Sunbury - Shenandoah, Sunbury.

Don't get confused - Rt. 522 takes you to Kreamer, home of Wood-Mode Kitchens, Middleburg, Pennsylvania (county seat) and on to Lewistown, Pennsylvania The sign says 'Selinsgrove Center' - which is NOT the center of the town - but is a huge State owned health care facility. Middleburg is the Snyder county seat and the location of the Snyder County Historic Society.

Selinsgrove, Pennsylvania is a beautiful small town - home of Susquehanna University. Unique shopping where friendly service prevails. If they don't have it - they'll refer you to someone that does.. Tree lined streets, neat and pretty homes - the Isle of Que a section of the town is on the Susquehanna River and hosts an Old Timer's Day art and antique sale in the summer. Selinsgrove is also known for its 'White Christmas' & Market Street Festival Stop at the Basket Gourmet - the Country Squire and Bearly Country Designs. J. Kleinbauer for fine clothes; and the Governor Snyder Mansion for beautiful gifts of all kinds- and a myriad of other unique shops and restaurants.

Pine & Market Street intersectioin
Take a left to go to the Isle of Que crossing over Penn's Creek. Go right and you go to Susquehanna University and its beautifully landscaped and very old campus. A good place to take a walk and stretch your legs. Many neat & unique places to eat - include BJ's Steaks & Ribs - but all are good!

Exit to Bypass - and to Rt. 35
You can reenter the bypass here - or take Rte. 35 west to Mt. Pleasant Mills, Pennsylvania - Richfield, Pennsylvania & Mifflintown, Pennsylvania. If you go that way - stop at the Bison Farm II -in Richfield - also at the square of 4 churches. This is the exit to the Selinsgrove Speedway. Mt. Pleasant Mills is the home of Irvin Country Tinware.. This IS Amish country - be alert for horse & buggies!

Rte. 104 to Middleburg, Pa., Middleburg - the County Seat(Snyder County) - a lot of Amish and Old World Mennonite live here - be aware of horse-drawn buggies with a large fluorescent triangle on the back Many modular home and parts manufacturers in Snyder County - which is basically a rich and verdant farming county.. If you conintinue on Rt. 104 it will take you thru Penns Creek to Mifflinburg - home of the buggy museum and the Kriskindle market.

Town of Liverpool, Pennsylvania
A historic , very small, town along the Susquehanna River. It was a favorite town of Charles Dickens when he visited the U.S. Antique shops & art galleries - and a terrific campground along the Susquehanna. Take the ferry boat to Millersburg, Pennsylvania (across the river) from the campground. The ferry is the oldest continuously run sternwheel ferry boat in the US and is on the National Historic Register. Its a kick.

This is the end of our odessey. Look to your left across the beautiful Susquehanna River - going South - to see the lovely Harrisburg, Pennsylvania skyline. You may take the M. Harvey Taylor Bridge to cross the Susquehanna and be in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania - a very beautiful city. - with a magnificent Capitol complex- a MUST see Hopefully the next Highway Steward will pick it up here and take you on South. -e
