Barlow Pass and Road Named for a pioneer toll-road builder, wagon ruts can still be seen here, 150 years after the road was originally built. The Pacific Crest Hiking Trail, extending from Canada to Mexico, crosses Hwy 35 here. Also a stretch of old Hwy 35 takes you parallel to the current highway, with some great views of Mt. Hood. It also takes you past a Pioneer Woman's Grave as it again intersects the old pioneer trail.
