Crossing the Gnat Creek. Access to the Gnat Creek Fish Hatchery. This hatchery raises spring chinook salmon for the Clatsop Economic Development Committee (CEDC). It is a rearing facility with no adult fish present. An interesting interpretive trail of the Nicolai Watershed shows the relationship between fish and their watershed. A state park and Lewis and Clark National Wildlife Refuge are nearby.

The Astoria-Megler Bridge, which was formally dedicated August 27, 1966, stretches 4.1 miles from Astoria, Oregon, across the mouth of the Columbia River, to Point Ellice, Washington.
