Byway: Ohio - Ohio River Scenic Route - Ohio
Byway Description: This byway is a history-rich corridor that meanders along the banks of the Ohio River, hugging its shoreline and offering almost continuous views of the river. The history of the Ohio is as vast as the water flowing through its channels, covering periods from Native American habitation through western settlement, changing transportation patterns, and industrialization. The landscape along the route offers scenes illustrating this history; sites include Wayne National and Shawnee State Forests, Scofield Covered Bridge, and Grant's Birthplace.
