Ohio - CanalWay Ohio Scenic Byway

Description: The CanalWay Ohio Scenic Byway allows you to explore and understand the development of the canal from the pre-canal era still evident in the southern section of the route, through the height of the canal era in the communities along the midsection of the byway, to the industrial legacy evident in the northern section of the byway. The route is exceptionally rich in historical sites and districts, in numerous interpretive displays, and in recreational opportunities for hiking, biking, and water sports.
