North to communities of Washington, New Jersey, Buttzville, New Jersey; South to Flemington, New Jersey and Trenton, New Jersey. Access to the Spruce Run Recreational area - North of the highway; Voorhees State Park - South of the highway. Spruce Run Recreation Area. Surrounded by the rolling hills of Hunterdon County, Spruce Run Recreation Area is popular with picnickers, swimmers, fishermen, boaters and campers. Campsites: 67 tent and trailer sites with picnic tables and fire rings. Flush toilets and showers are within walking distance. Voorhees, like Parvin State Park, served as a camp for the Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC) - Franklin Roosevelt’s program to get people back to work during the Depression. Campsites: 50 tent and trailer sites with fire rings and picnic tables are available. Modern toilets and showers are within walking distance. Trailer sanitary station is open April 1 through October 31. Campsites open all year. Town of Clinton, New Jersey
Eastern boundary. Services and lodging - off highway. Access to Clinton business district. Clinton , the quintessential American small town is nestled in the hills of Hunterdon County. Visitors stand on the old truss bridge constructed circa 1870 that spans the Raritan River and overlooks a 200 foot wide waterfall which separates two old grist mills; Clinton's landmark Red Mill, home of the Hunterdon Historical Museum, and the Stone Mill, which houses the Hunterdon Museum of Art.
