Missouri - Crowley's Ridge Parkway - Missouri
Description: Sharecropping, cotton, sand, swamps, peaches, yucca plants, and the Old South -- these are all on Crowley's Ridge in southeast Missouri. The Bootheel has remained a "Corridor of Time" for its historic, natural, and cultural resources. Due to its geographical nature, Crowley's Ridge was like an isolated island from the north, east, and west. As settlers moved in, this safe haven became a close-knit community maintaining their culture, religion, and values while changing the landscape.
Time to Allow: 30 minutes
