Engadine
Small northern community of Engadine was founded in 1894 during northern Michigan's lumbering era. Today the community's economy is based on agriculture, tourism and logging. Don't miss the Mill Pond Park with native wildflower plantings, a gazebo, picnic area and well-maintained walking trails. The Freeman-Hastings House museum on Mackinac Trail is open Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday afternoons.

M28 is a main crossroad of the Upper Peninsula: head east for the town of Newberry and a trip to Tahquamenon Falls, Michigan's largest waterfall (35 miles) or head west through woods and wetlands until you arrive at Munising for a tour of waterfalls and the Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore (60 miles)
