Valdez, Alaska - Points of interest Photos taken of the Valdez, Alaska area. On our boat cruse, we had the choice of a 6 1/2 hour cruse which goes to The Columbia Glacier, or a 9 1/2 hour cruse that went also to the Meares Glacier. We chose the 9 1/2 hour cruse and were glad we did. The Columbia Glacier, is southcentral Alaska's largest tidewater glacier.
