Colima is a small state, packed with many sites within a few hours drive. Villa de Alvarez (City known for great traditional Colima food), Comala ("White Town"), Suchitlan (Town), Nevado de Colima (Volcano) National Park, Volcan de Fuego (Volcano) and Tecoman (Agricultural Centre). It also offers splendid beaches such as Manzanillo (Port City), the world capital of sport fishing, and several impressive archeological sites such as El Chanal and La Campana.
An interesting experience for Rvers, is a spot called "The Magic Zone" at kilometer six highway #16 (From Comala, 10 minutes, taking Suchitlan highway). If you place your RV in neutral, on the slope, the highway's optical illusion gives you the impression that your vehicle is being pulled up the hill as by magnetism.
The state has an excellent network of paved roads and highways. Among the most travelled are the Colima-Guadalajara, Manzanillo-Barra de Navidad and Colima-Morelia interstate highways, as well as the Colima-Manzanillo, Colima-Armería and Colima-Tecomán state highways.

Colima is primarily known for its regional year-round fiestas, fresh seafood and exotic local beverages. Colorful and clean streets, local hospitality and top-quality tourist facilities, which display Colima's citizens hospitality and pride for their city. For those who love art, drop by the displays at the University, at the cultural centre enjoy the ancient Colima dog sculptures (One is a masterful achievement of simplicity, purity, and spirit.)
Colima's capital, Manzanillo, with its sophisticated port infrastructure have made it one of the major tourist destinations and sea harbors on Mexico's west coast, offering a variety of activities ranging from beach lounging and snorkeling (the non-traffic side of the port entrance breakwater is a lovely place to snokel for free; fish off the breakwater in the morning with silver rapella lures) to guided safaris of the Tlacota Tropical Rainsforest. Just up the road on highway 200 is Barra de Navidad, which makes a nice daytrip from Manzinillo.
