Chihuahua is the state in Mexico with the largest territory, most of it is of a dry and hot weather but going along it's highways you will discover the world famous canyons that will take the breath away, like the copper canyon, one of the largest canyon systems in the world, where you can practice sports such as trekking, rappelling and rock climbing and then feel like you are on a time travel machine where you will experience the history of civilizations with an important cultural heritage, from prehispanic settlements to colonial wonders in it's capital city, Chihuahua. The state of Chihuahua is also the home to Mexico's most important Mennonite community.

When many thing of Chihuahua, aside from the little dogs, they think of desert and cattle ranching. Yet, the state also has orchards, farming and other beautiful agricultural areas.
If you were amazed by the US Grand Canyon, check out the Barrancas del Cobre (
Copper Canyon:), four times larger and one and a half times deeper than the Grand Canyon. Located in the rugged Sierra Madre Occidental Mountains, it is best to pocket your RV keys, and enjoy this natural wonder from the comfort of the Pacific-Chihuahua Railway that runs from Los Mochis in Sinaloa State to Chihuahua City.
When in Chihuahua City, 170 miles south of El Paso on Highway 45, see the enormous statue of Chihuahua native Anthony Quinn, breathtaking murals located in the main plaza of the capitol, and the Museum of the Revolution, former home of revolutionary Pancho Villa. the Museum of Sacred Art, Center of Contemporary Art and purchase some handicrafts at las Artesanias. This is beef country, so unless you are a vegetarian, enjoy a bovine bonanza, at one of the cities restaurants.
The Paquime Ruins are located just off State Highway #10, in the north west corner of Chihuahua near Casas Grandes. Hidalgo del Parral, south of Chihuahua on State Highway 45 or State Highway 24, are also worth visiting.
For travelers interested in finding unique handicrafts, Mata Ortiz is a small village located just an hour's drive from Casas Grandes and famous the world over for its hand-made pottery called Mata Ortiz or Casas Grandes pottery
