The Community of Biggar, SK, all services, Biggar's former member of Parliament was M.J. Coldwell, the leader of the C.C.F party in the 1940s and 1950s. He represented Biggar for 23 years, from 1935-1958 and was one of the architects of Canada's social safety net.
