Community of Sturgeon, east of highway. West to Buffaloland Provincial Park. LOCATED AT MILLTOWN CROSS, on Route 4, 6 km south of Montague. Buffaloland is a day use park. Picnic tables are provided. The boardwalk leads to a wooden deck where display pedestals provide information about buffalo and white tailed deer. The deck overlooks a 100-acre enclosure where the herd of about 25 of these large and dramatic animals graze. The original buffalo were a gift to the Prince Edward Island government from the Province of Alberta. The park is open year round and admission is free.

North to Panmure Island Provincial Park, campground,22unser. 22 elec. sites. On Route 347, north of Gaspereaux. Panmure Island is open from mid June to mid September and offers a bay and ocean beach with lifeguards, laundromat, hot showers (8), flush toilets (13), kitchen shelter, fireplaces, supply store, dumping station, look-out tower, beach house with change rooms, canteen, boat launching area and interpretive programs. Pets permitted on leash.

At Panmure Island Lighthouse, during tourist season, local people put on a seafood supper, fund raiser for the lighthouse. They also have local musicians. Milebymile staff attended this function and if you are in the area, check at the Panmure Provincial Park bulletin board for dates
