Community of Gamebridge, Ontario - Photo - Trent Severn Waterway
Bridge crossing Trent Severn Waterway (National Historic Site). The Ontario Trent-Severn Waterway, flows 386 km along central Ontario. Construction on the waterway began in the Ontario, Kawartha Lakes region in 1833 with the Lock at Bobcaygeon, Ontario marking its beginning. It took over 87 years to complete the waterway. The Trent-Severn system is still in service and is maintained and operated by Parks Canada.
