Ottawa, Ontario - Changing of the Guard in front of Parliament Buildings The Changing of the Guard on Parliament Hill is a daily event from June to August, at 10.00 am. This historic ceremony together with the Governor General's Foot Guards and the Canadian Grenadier Guards accompanied by the band of the Ceremonial Guard is a must see.

South to City of Toronto, Ontario Access -- Attractions in Peterborough, Ontario: - Hutchison House Museum, tours and events of the 1837 period. - Lang Pioneer Village, located east of Peterborough, featuring a pioneer village with buildings showing the way of life in the 1800s, the village has gardens and farm animals. - Peterborough Centennial Museum and Archives, featuring the history of Peterborough, and area. The museum has over 25,000 articles that are periodically displayed. - The Trent-Severn Waterway Canadian National Historic Site.

On the shore of Georgian Bay,the name comes from the Gaelic (rocky bay), probably bestowed by an early settler of the family of Sir Sandford Fleming.
William Pollard developed a shale oil extraction works in the mid 1850s,
the steamer Mary Ward sank on shoals nearby
just west of the slopes of the Blue Mountains.
