The Marconi Trail Scenic Drive Trailway, Louisbourg to Glace Bay: This highway follows the south eastern shore of Cape Breton Island. Starting at the rich in history community of Louisbourg, ending at the Marconi National Historic Site which marks the location of the first west-to-east transatlantic radio transmission in 1902. There is a museum at this point which is open to the public (at no cost Aug/2002)

Start / Finish of the Marconi Trail Scenic Drive Trailway. In 1902, the first official wireless message was sent from this site across the Atlantic Ocean to England. Visitors can see the Wireless Hall of Fame and walk the interpretive trail to the original transmission station. The museum was open to the public free of charge Aug/ 2002
