The Lighthouse Route follows Nova Scotia's South Shore, where the past is a part of everyday life. You'll find it along quiet country roads where ox teams still haul lumber, and coastal villages where fishermen still row wooden dories out to sea. This portion of the Lighthouse Route highway guide starts at highway #329 and follows the lighthouse route to the town of Bridgewater where it joins highway #331.

The park is open from mid-May until early October, offering a 84 site campground, walking trails, picnic area, swimming area, playground and boat launch. The campground has water outlets and a trailer dump station. Walk in Tenting Sites are available, the large walk-in tenting sites are located along an woodland roadway, a short walk (100 m) from the main parking lot.

The Town of Lunenburg, NS, was formally established in 1753 as the first British Colonial settlement in Nova Scotia outside of Halifax. These early settlers were from various parts of Germany, Switzerland, and the Montbeliard region of France. They followed in the footsteps of earlier Mikmaq and Acadian inhabitants in the area. - Attractions in Lunenburg: Fisheries Museum of the Atlantic; the Museum offers the fishing heritage of the Atlantic coast of Canada. The museum is housed in brightly painted red buildings, with floating vessels at wharfside. The historic Bluenose, is celebrated in an exhibit that contains the world's largest collection of Bluenose artifacts.- Knaut Rhuland House Museum; The Knaut-Rhuland House is a turn of the nineteenth century two and-a-half storey wooden Georgian structure - Capt.
