North to Amherst Shore Provincial Park. On the shore of the Northumberland Strait, Amherst Shore Provincial Park offers an attractive setting for camping, walking, and swimming. This park, like others along this coast, offers some of the warmest saltwater swimming north of the Carolinas. The park is open from mid-June until mid-October and offers a 45-site woodland campground, picnic areas, showers/comfort station, and a walking trail leading to the unsupervised beach area.

South of highway. The Town of Oxford is well know for it's connection to the blueberry industry. Attractions in and around Oxford, NS: Wild Blueberry & Maple Centre, has a self-guided interpretative centre & visitor information. The center shows both wild blueberry and maple industry tools and implements. - The Cumberland County Exhibition, in operation since 1918. Exhibition has various activities including a queens’ pageant, talent show, various farm animals, different displays and vendors. - The Wild Blueberry Harvest Festival: The Wild Blueberry Harvest Festival runs the last 2 weeks in August. - Lions Parkland; Enjoy a swim in their natural salt water lake or spend time picnicking. Oxford has three rivers that converge into Oxford the Black River, Little River and River Phillip.
