The Grotto to Our Lady of Lourdes stands in front of the parish church at Lourdes, NL. Constructed in 1987 to mark the 75th anniversary of the parish, it has since become a place of prayer and solace for parishioners and visitors alike, and a tourist attraction on Newfoundland's Port au Port Peninsula, NL. Each year on August 15th, parishioners gather there to celebrate the feast of the Assumption. On the same site is a cannon believed to be from a French man-of-war of the 1800s, and a chruch bell from the old parish church. North to communities of Black Duck Brook, NL, Long Point, NL.
