Roadside turnout, paved, with historical marker. 'The Plain Trail from Carlton - The trail ended in Edmonton where it was referred to as the plain trail from Carlton. This was to distinguish it from the more famous main Carlton trail that lay on the north side of the Saskatchewan River. Passing through the lighter aspen parkland, the 'plain trail' earlier used by native buffalo hunters, at least until the destructioin of the herds by the late 1870's.'
